Ongoing litigation with Hackney Council and the forthcoming public inquiry will
resolve the planning status of Hoxton Docks and the future of the Antepavilion
commission (See ‘Hackney Fight’ page). Neither of these processes are likely to
conclude before spring 2021.
The 2021Antepavilion brief will again be constrained by the uncertainties of the
planning battle Hackney is currently waging on the role of Hoxton
Docks/Antepavilion in showcasing alternative, self-build, urban art and
architecture.
We are considering a fitting brief to respond to the assault on freedom of
expression in art and design in the urban realm. We hope to have something to
suit before the end of the year. Meanwhile, prospective entrants might start to
study carefully the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted
Development) Order.
